  7.     FROM THE FILE-LIST SCREEN

  9.  1) Select a file (or a group of files) to convert.  You can select multiple
  10.     files by clicking and holding the mouse button while dragging the pointer 
  11.     over a number of files.  You can also select multiple ranges by holding
  12.     down [Shift] while clicking on file names to select or deselect them.

  14.     NOTE:  The trial version will only convert one file at a time.
  15.  
  16.  2) Pull down the "Convert" menu with the mouse (or type ALT-C)
  17.     and select the desired type of file.
  18.  
  19.  3) GDS will open a dialog box that allows you to ROTATE the image or MIRROR
  20.     (flip) it vertically or horizontally as it writes out the file.  GDS will
  21.     attempt to name the file the same as the source but with the new
  22.     extension.  If the extension is the same, or a file with the name already
  23.     exists, GDS will name the file GDS<n> where <n> is the next available
  24.     number, i.e. GDS000, GDS001, GDS002...

  27.     FROM THE VIEW SCREEN

  29.  1) (OPTIONAL) To save a portion of the displayed image: move the mouse
  30.     pointer to the "File" menu and highlight "Set Save Rect".  Release the
  31.     mouse button.  Move the mouse pointer to one corner of the rectangular
  32.     area you want to save.  Click and hold the mouse button.  Drag the
  33.     rectangle that appears to the desired size.  Release the mouse button.
  34.     Only the area inside the rectangle will be saved by following the
  35.     remaining steps.  (If you are unhappy with your selection you can return
  36.     the crop rectangle to include the entire screen by selecting "Reset Crop
  37.     Rectangle" from the "File" menu.)

  39.  2) Move the mouse pointer to the top of the view screen.  Click and hold the
  40.     mouse button.  The "View Mode Menu Bar" will appear.

  42.  3) Move the mouse pointer to the "File" menu.

  44.  4) Highlight the type of destination file by moving the mouse pointer to it
  45.     and releasing the button.

  47.  5) GDS will open a dialog box to name the file.  If the name GDS picks is
  48.     acceptable, hit [Enter].  Otherwise change the name and hit [Enter].  GDS
  49.     displays a warning message if you try to use a name that already exists.
